Year 12

Year 12 is potentially the most exciting and important academic year of a young person’s life, with them finally finishing school, taking exams and moving onwards to their future career. While Year 11 is a year of becoming familiar with chosen subjects and the VCE system, Year 12 is the year of applications – a time when students make big decisions about their future, applying for jobs and courses.

Karen’s Approach

SEE AND REALISE YOUR POTENTIAL
Karen specialises in a number of vital areas that help Year 12 students achieve their potential. Karen can also recommend a proven schedule of career coaching sessions that will guide them through their final year, as well as what lies afterwards.
HELP WITH A CAREER ACTION PLAN
The start of the year is a transition period in which Year 12 students get reacquainted with their subjects in Unit 3. Term 1 is where Karen would strongly recommend having the first professional career coaching session. It is in this session where Karen and the student will build a Career Action Plan, but she also gets to know the student as a real person and gain an understanding of their personality traits and what they consider to be their strengths and weaknesses.
PRACTICAL TOOLS FOR SUCCESS
By the end of the year, Karen will be working with the student to discuss potential subjects for Year 12, clarify the application process and any prerequisites for higher education, and work on specific tasks that need attention, such as resume writing and creating folios for specific application types.
